Not since January!!

Oh my word! It's been since January that I've posted!? I guess with the status updates on Facebook I forget all about posting on here. We've had a busy year so far. Lots of time spent at Blue Lake this summer. And now Jaden has started Kindergarten. It's like getting off one roller coaster and getting on another one! LOL But I think we've finally adjusted to the schedule.

This year I am also doing MOPS again. I am a DGL this year (Discussion Group Leader) and I have a great co-leader and steering members backing me up. I really love the ladies in my group and have a great time hanging out with them. My nephew Shane is also going to MOPS with us and he is loving it. (Between my Mom and I (mostly Mom) we are watching Shane while Melissa is at school teaching.) Jaden was also happy to find out he was in PM Kindergarten and was able to come to MOPS. My Mom has been great stepping up to help out there. She picks up Jaden a little early, brings him home and gets him lunch, then puts him on the bus.

I've been working on some crafts and scrapbooking. Here are some of the things I've been working on.

Shirts for the kids and I to wear to the Pumpkin Patch. (The one without the Mickey ears is for my nephew Shane.)

I made these 3-D pumpkins. I kept seeing them on blog after blog and thought I'd give it a try. One of them is for me. The other was going to be for my sister but she didn't really like it. Wasn't her taste. No biggie, I've got someone else in mind to give it to. :)

Well that's about it for now. I've got to get busy on Christmas gifts and such. I won't be able to post those until after Christmas but I'll try to remember to to that. :)

Some of the gifts made for Christmas

I made this for my sister. They are over sized X's and O's for Valentines Day. Each one is two sided so she can decide if she wants them to be all pink, all hearts, or a combination of the two like in the picture.
This is a smaller banner also for Valentine's Day. It's hard to see in the picture but there are small opaque hearts on each letter. Also "LOVE" is spelled out across the letters. They are held together by wire.

These coasters I designed using our family's 4th of July pictures taken at Blue Lake. Several people in my family got these.

This was made for my new niece Josie Faith. I have also given her a smaller version of this without her name and the flower to go with this one.

This was made for my nephew Shane. It's hard to tell in the picture but the flames are made with two different shades of yellow/orange. I created the "flame" image on my computer from an image I found on the web and used my Cricut to cut it out. Then I Mod Podge'd it onto the frame I had painted black. Finishing it off by hot gluing this felt & wooden fire truck.

This is the back of an ornament I made for my Mom. I used scrapbook paper and embellishments for the back of this. I added ribbon and a "holly" leaf border around the edges.

This is the front of the ornament. I took the picture of my parents with the grandkids and shrunk it down to fit inside. Then I used some tissue paper to cover the frame. It had a metallic kind of sheen to it.

There were several others that I forgot to take pictures of. I covered clipboards for my sister-in-law and two nieces. I made a couple of frames that said "FAMILY" and I painted them black. I painted a frame for one niece that looked like a ladybug. And for the other niece, I painted one to look like a purple flower and leaves. As usual I made scrapbooks for Seann's parents. I designed some keychains for several people. Most had a picture of 3 crosses and the sun setting behind them. (Then a special one for a dear friend who LOVES the New Orleans Saints.) I designed a deck of cards with my nephew's picture on them for his Dad. I made a "log" clock for my Father-in -law. It looks like a slice taken out of a tree trunk with the clock face on it. For my brother-in-law I designed a USB hub with the logo's of the two colleges he's attended on each side. (I also made one for Seann with....Disney images of course.) Dad's are sometimes hard to find gifts for, especially when they have everything they need or want. So I created a coupon book for my Dad with things like "Free weed whacking at the Lake" "Free night from grilling at the Lake" etc. For my sister I painted a circular frame yellow and glued a wooden pair of green sunglasses to it. I also put a cute picture of my nephew taken this summer while we were at the beach.
So I think that's everything that I made this year. I know I dropped the ball on taking pictures of things as a couple people asked me to. But I did my best. And at least you got to see some of them.
Now I'm taking a break and then going to start working on this coming Christmas. (Yes I know I make some of you sick LOL) In fact I got a great idea at MOPS today!
Let me know what you think!
